I remember seeing this on an FY art gallery page years ago. I'd emailed the person to find out if they knew who drew it and where I could find more. Never managed to learn anything else; needless to say, I'm happy to have found it here! I was very impressed then and still am.
o.o This... is something I've never seen done before! Or that I only see rarely. >.> *cough.* anyway, even though it's an older picture (hahah, I looked at the date! Ain't I smart??) I still think it turned out pretty damn good. Love the details in the hair and the scar and the eyes and... everything. >.>
I really like the way you drew him with his eyes closed. In the manga it just makes him look happy and kinda silly, but you've drawn his "eye slits" sort of more 3D, so his whole face has a much more disturbing, weird "why are his eyes like that?" quality if you look at it hard enough. Ya know what I mean? Or am I just overanalyzing...? lol
Naw - overanalysing is fun! Thanks so much for the nice comment - I'm really glad you like my Chichiri pic. Despite how long ago I've drawn it, I still like how it came out. I am re-watching the FY series again so I'll probably end up doing some fan arts soon for it
Glad you caught the details on the mask eyes though! That's the intention I had. To make it seem like it's still a mask even though Chichiri spells it so that he can talk and emote to a degree
This is very, VERY nice. ^__^ I love the careful attention to detail you put to his expression, as well the convincingly realistic spin on his hair! Kudos, indeed- he's a hard character to bring to life.
Wow - I haven't seen a comment for this guy in a long time I'm glad you like it - and thanks for commenting!! I haven't attempted another realistic Chichiri since then...but with all the new skills I'm learning at art college - I should give it a whirl sometime ^^
