Halo - Reunited by Djehuti Halo - Reunited by Djehuti
Here is the last old pic (from 2006 most likely) that I have to upload if I recall right.

I drew this after reading one of the Halo novels - I think it was First Strike. (Nylund FTW!) - it was when Kelly reunited with Master Chief by approaching him and lifting her fingers to do the smiley sign over his faceplate.

This is the Spartan II version of a super glompy hug of OMGMISSEDYOOOOOU!!!

**EDIT MARCH 2010**
:iconkiyoshinobuyuki: Did a color 3D picture of this!!! I am stunned beyond belief it's so awesome! Check it out here: [link] Click for full size!! :D

Ah! You really did the scene justice. It's honestly one of my favorite moments in any of the books. There's just something touching about the way the SPARTAN-II's show their affection like that, and it's even more prominent with these two because she actually does the gesture on HIS faceplate. And when you consider their connection from the first few days of their training, well...By the time I saw it in First Strike, I actually got a little choked up.

idk y but i like it when spartans show emotions....i guess it makes them look like they have more to them than a "freak" (not true!!) in a 1000 pound armor. :aww: btw very nicely done.

The original Halo Trilogy is as follows:

Halo: Fall of Reach - written by Eric Nylund.
Halo: The Flood - written by William C. Dietz.
Halo: First Strike - written by Eric Nylund.

The Spartans were raised in a harsh military training environment and as a result became very close knit. The 'smiley' is a gesture to show hello - or in the context of my picture and the scene in the book, happiness. The Spartans aren't prone to emotional display - so the smiley is as emotional as they tend to get outright.

The original trilogy explains how the Spartans came to be - the first being a prequel to the first Halo game. The Flood is a written account of the first Halo game...and the third novel takes place between the games Halo 1 and Halo 2. There are more Halo novels that were written after that - that are just as good! I recommend them all!
